Convert concentration values from ppb to µg/m3.

Usage

ppb2ugm3(ppb, temp = 293, press = 1013, mw)

Arguments

ppb

Numeric with concentrations in ppb.

temp

Temperature in K (default = 293 K).

press

Pressure in hPa (default = 1013 hPa).

mw

Molecular weight.

Value

Numeric with concentration values in \(\mu g/m^3\)

Details

The function converts the concentration of a gaseous pollutant from ppb to \(\mu g/m^3\) according to the following formula: $$ \mu g / m^3 = ppb \cdot \frac{MW}{MV} $$ where \(MW\) is the molecular weight and \(MV\) is the molecular volume.

Molecular weight:

  • NO_2 = 46.0

  • O3 = 48.0

Examples

# NO2
ppb2ugm3(ppb = 100, temp = 293, press = 1013, mw = 46.0055)
